Reach Bolts That Standard Torque Wrenches Cannot Access

When a conventional torque wrench cannot align directly with the nut, the BROL Offset Gearbox transfers torque to an offset working head. This makes it suitable for close bolt groups, narrow flanges, machinery frames and fasteners positioned near walls or other obstructions.

The reaction structure must be placed against a stable support point before operation.

Choose the Correct Interchangeable Working Head

Select the working head according to the nut across-flats dimension. The BROL-S50 gearbox body accepts four working-head sizes, while the BROL-S60 body accepts two larger working heads.

How to Set the Correct Input Torque

Because torque passes through the offset gearbox, the torque wrench input setting must be calculated using the 1.17 conversion ratio.

Formula:

Input Torque = Desired Output Torque × 1.17

Output Torque = Input Torque ÷ 1.17

For example:

For a desired output torque of 1000 Nm:

1000 Nm × 1.17 = 1170 Nm Input Torque

Set the compatible torque wrench to 1170 Nm to obtain the required 1000 Nm output torque under the specified conversion conditions.

Safety Note

Never exceed the maximum permitted input torque of 2000 Nm.
