Air-Driven Hydraulic Power for Bolt Tensioning

The Baier BPV Series is a pneumatic hydraulic pump designed to provide ultra-high hydraulic pressure for bolt tensioning applications. Powered by compressed air, the pump converts 5.5–8 bar air input into hydraulic output pressure up to 150MPa, 220MPa or 350MPa depending on the selected model.

It is suitable for hydraulic bolt tensioners used in wind power, hydropower, power generation, heavy machinery and industrial flange maintenance.

How Does a Pneumatic Hydraulic Pump Work?

Compressed air enters the pump and drives the internal pressure intensification system. The pump then generates ultra-high hydraulic pressure and transfers it through a hose to the hydraulic bolt tensioner.

This allows controlled bolt tensioning without using an electric motor at the work point.

Automatic Pressure-Responsive Cycling

At low hydraulic pressure, the pump cycles quickly to build pressure. As system pressure rises, the cycle speed decreases. When pressure reaches the balance point, the pump stops automatically and restarts if pressure drops.
